FLAGS TO BE FLOWN IN FULL MAST AFTER BURIAL OF HRH PRINCE PHILIP

The Office of the Governor General today has issued an advisory that all flags in the country will be flown back in full mast after the burial of His Royal Highness, the Duke of Edinburgh on Saturday 17 April at 3:00pm British time.

This will be on the early morning of Sunday 18 April Solomon Islands time.

“Therefore, it is only prudent that all flags in Solomon Islands can be hoisted in full mast again on Sunday 18 April at 6:00am,” said the advisory from Government House today.

The Governor General Sir David Vunagi has ordered all flags in the country to be flown at half-mast on Saturday 10 April in honour of the passing of His Royal Highness, Prince Philip.

His Royal Highness passed away at the age of 99 on Friday 8 April.

Leaders and people of Solomon Islands paid tribute to his Royal Highness at a wreath laying ceremony and condolence book signing at Government House on Monday 12 April.
