Female hospitalised after she was attacked by male aggressor with bluetooth speaker

A female has received injury to her face after she was attacked in the face with a bluetooth speaker.

Police in Munda, Western Province have already arrested and charged a 35 year-old male person for assaulting the 39-years-old female at Kindu village in Munda on 15 June 2023.

Commissioner of Mostyn Mangau said initially the accused and his friend were drinking alcohol on the main road when the victim’s nephew asked them to lower their music because it was already late at night. However, the suspect and his friends did not want to listen and instead they swore at the victim at the residence.

“The victim invited the accused and his friend into their residence to sort out the issue of using abusive words. However, the boys declined and invited the victim and her nephew to go out to them instead,” Mangau said today.

 “When the victim stepped out of the fence, the accused swung a bluetooth speaker in the face of the female victim. As a result, she fell on the ground and was later transported to Helena Goldie Hospital where she is admitted,” he said.

The victim’s condition was stable,” Commissioner Mangau said.

The 35-year-old accused was charged with unlawful wounding contrary to section 299 of the penal code and will appear before court at a later date.
