FB post leads to row at Vonunu

A facebook post has led to a row in Vonunu, Western Province and not a fight between rival intending candidates’ supporters.

The incident was said to be bloody and involved supporters of intending candidates’ for the South Vella seat.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Juanita Matanga when responding to a question on the issue today confirmed that she was aware of the issue and wanted to set the records straight.

She said: “I just wanted to put it right. The incident involved a CDO (Constituency Development Office) and a post by a community member on FB.”

She said when this person (poster) arrived on shore at Vonunu, one of the youths chased him because of what he posted on FB.

However, she said they have now sorted out the issue.

Matanga also confirmed that police have received similar reports and they had attended to and dealt with the issues.
