Electricity tariff to be reduced by 25% over next 3 years

Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele has announced a 25% decrease of electrify tariff for the next three years. The decrease is from 2025 to 2027.

Solomon Islands electricity tariff is amongst the most expensive in the world.

Manele told Parliament that his government is going to reduce tariff of electricity in the next three years.

“The electricity tariff is going to be reduced for the next three years,” he told Parliament.

Manele added: “The government’s commitment to transiting to renewable energy will continue to a further reduction in electricity tariff beyond 2027.”
