DPM Maelanga and Minister Giro arrived at Kiritimati Island for the 3rd PNA Leaders Summit

The Solomon Islands Deputy Prime Minister, Hon Manasseh Maelanga (MP) and Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Hon Nestor Giro (MP) have arrived in Kiritimati (Christmas) Island in the Republic of Kiribati ahead of the 3rd Parties to the Nauru Agreement (PNA) Leaders’ Summit.

Upon arrival at Cassidy international airport, Hon Maelanga and Minister Giro were welcomed with a guard of honor mounted by the Republic of Kiribati Police Force including performances by Kiribati Police Brass Band and cultural dance groups.

DPM Maelanga and Minister Giro also attended a welcome dinner hosted by President of Kiribati His Excellency Taneti Maamau at Millennium Maneaba.

The 3rd PNA Leaders’ Summit proper will be convened from 26th October -27th October 2023 under the theme: “Charting the Course: Economic Independence through collaboration in sustainable tuna fisheries.”

DPM Maelanga and Minister Giro are accompanied by Mr Tony Kabasi, Deputy Secretary to Prime Minister, Mr Patteson Lusi, Deputy Sectary (Corporate Services), MFMR, Mr Eddie Honiwala Director Fisheries, MFMR and Mr Peter Cusack, Tuna Industry Expert.
