Gizo voters have called on to choose and vote for the right leader for the next four years. Pastor Frank Mamu of the New Way Kingdom Harvest Ministry in Gizo says that one of the most anticipated events for citizens in the country is the selection of the right leaders.

Pr. Mamu expressed this in an interview, stating, “Our desire and hearts are to put forth the right leaders in parliament, individuals who are God-fearing, have a vision, and perform well for their constituents, parliament, and the entire country.”

“We desire a leader who is transparent, who understands the daily struggles of the people at the grassroots level,” Mamu continued.

He emphasized that people want a leader who is not distant from their concerns, but rather one who engages with them at the grassroots level. This is what we are looking forward to in this election. One aspect he highlighted is the need for leaders to empower and improve the lives of the people.

“What we should focus on here is the cries of the people, what they are unaware of or what is happening at the upper level,” he added.

Mamu further stated that there is often a lack of proper standards of living and sanitation, among other issues.

He emphasized that when electing leaders for Gizo/Kolombangara, voters should prioritize a leader who will touch the lives of people in the community.

“We want a leader who prioritizes education and human resources, not only for Gizo/Kolombangara or the Western Province, but for the entire country,” Mamu emphasized.

He mentioned that the leadership role has failed to connect the roads in wettest Gizo. “We want a leader who is transparent and advocates for the needs of the people. The road to West Gizo has been neglected, with numerous potholes. Addressing these issues is essential,” Mamu explained. While wishing the best of luck to the other eight candidates contesting, he urged voters to make an informed decision before April 17th.
