The Community Policing Team of Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Auki in Malaita Province have received a multi-functional amplifier portable system from China Police Liaison Team (CPLT).
The gift was handed over by the Deputy Team leader Ji Yong to Police Provincial Commander (PPC) Malaita Province Superintendent Leslie Kili at the Aola base wharf on Monday.
PPC Kili in his remarks acknowledged and thanked Commissioner Zhang Guangbao and his team for the generous support to RSIPF, especially for the gift of muti-functional amplifier speaker.
Kili said, “On behalf of RSIPF Malaita, I would like to thank the People’s Republic of China (PRC) for the great support. I really appreciate the tremendous help given through your government to assist RSIPF as it is a big boost for policing in Malaita.”
He adds: “This piece of equipment is very important for us to reach out to communities. Rather than a big set of equipment, it enables us to carry it to remote villages to do our community policing.”
Deputy team leader Ji Yong said CPLT fully supports the capacity building of the RSIPF through training and assistance. CPLT is concerned about the equipment needed for community policing in Malaita province.
After knowing that Malaita police needed a portable amplifier system, CPLT purchased one from China and delivered it to PPC Kili.
Ji Yong says, “We hope that the portable amplifier system can promote the capacity of Community Policing in Malaita. CPLT regards it as a special Christmas present for police in Malaita.”
