The Chevening Alumni Solomon Islands (CASI) on Tuesday this week elected its new executive members to lead the association forward.
The committee comprised of a Chairperson, Vice chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and three ordinary members.

Incorporated under the provisions of the Charitable Trust Act, the alumni association will be able to: promote social and professional interaction among all Chevening award scholars; provide professional advice to potential Chevening scholars on
cultural transition; promote the Chevening scholarship and enhance networking; provide a forum for intellectual exchange between Alumni members and the public and foster relations with Chevening Alumni in other countries and Chevening Alumni Secretariat and participate in Community and Charitable activities.
Newly elected Chairperson, Brian Titus Leafasia acknowledged all who attended the alumni’s first annual general meeting for entrusting him and his executive to take on the helm of CASI.
Other members of the committee include Dalcy Tozaka as Vice Chairperson, William Kadi as Secretary, Christina Bakolo as Treasurer and Ernest Teutao, Elma Rizzu Hilly and Danny Shadrech as ordinary members.
Since Chevening scholarships were introduced in 1983, there are approximately 50 Chevening alumni members in Solomon Islands, who are part of the more than 50,000 alumni members globally.

Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth &; Development Office of the UK Government, Chevening Scholarships offer applicants a wide range of study programmes to choose from.

It is a programme that enable outstanding emerging leaders from all over the world to pursue one-year master’s degrees in the UK. Whilst there is no ‘typical’ Chevening Scholar, we are looking for the kind of people who have the passion, ideas, and influence to provide the solutions and leadership needed to create a better future.
