Henderson Police Station have arrested a 16-year-old male suspect for the alleged murder of his cousin brother at Boboru village in the Tasimboko area, North East Guadalcanal Thursday last week (23 December 202}.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province, Superintendent John Foru says on 23 December 2021 at around 6pm the deceased was drinking alcohol with the suspect and three other boys.  He adds it was during that time that an argument broke out between the suspect and the deceased.

Foru said when the suspect walked out to urinate, he heard the other three boys questioning whether had also contributed money towards the alcohol or not. Police claimed that it was during that time that the deceased allegedly stated that it should not be a concern as the suspect had not bought any alcohol.

The suspect was charged with one count of murder Contrary to Section 200 of the Penal Code ch.26. The 16-yr-od was remanded at Rove Correctional Services of Solomon Islands (CSSI) and will appear at Honiara Central Magistrates’ Court on 5January.
