Residents in the Titinge area, Honiara have reported to police unknown piles of bones they found whilst digging an area there.
Report reaching SBMOnline implied that the residents found bones, yet to be verified whilst digging to build a house. The bones were said to be stacked when they were discovered.
They were yet to be verified whether they were of humans or not but police had been alerted of the discovery.
One resident said the unearthing of the bones remains an astonishment and it would be good to know if they were of humans or not.

When contacted police confirmed today saying the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), Forensic Services under the National Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) have received the report and have taken initial steps to address the situation.
“Due to the nature and the sensitivity of such a report, police will continue to work closely with our good people at Titinge to investigate this matter,” it says in a statement to SBMOnline.
