A vision of the Government of Solomon Islands and delivered through a partnership between the National Hosting Authority and the National Sports Council – the SIG fully funded Solomon Islands National Institute of Sport (SINIS) is the flagship program to lead the high performance system through the provision of an international standard of programs and services for emerging and elite athletes and coaches in the country
Its primary role is to support the planning and preparation of international high performance sport campaigns with national Federations, where coaches and emerging and elite sports men and women will be competing at international competitions. This includes working with NOCSI for the preparation of Team Solomon’s also in build-up towards the Pacific Games 2023

Strategic programs SINIS HP will include providing direct supporting National Federations, supporting their governance, elite competitions and performance enhancement plans, along with provision of performance support services in the daily training environment, along with collaborating on initiatives of the government working with sectors across health, education and youth to be able to grow the capacity in the local workforce and National Federations.
SINIS High – Performance programs and services will directly support coaches and emerging & elite athletes through a scholarship program. These services will include
Performance Management Services:
• PAMS, Coach & Athlete Scholarships, Performance Planning & Monitoring
Athlete Performance Services:
• Nutrition, Psychology, Sport Science, Sports Medicine, Strength & Conditioning & Anti-Doping
Coach Performance Services:
• Coach Development, Coach Education, Coach Study Tours
Talent Pathways:
• Talent Identification & Development, Talent Transfer
Wellbeing & Lifestyle Performance Services:
• Athlete roadmap, Programs in Dual Career, Biopsycholosocial, Beliefs & behaviours, Personal Development and Leadership

The Sports Training & Education Programs (STEPs) will offer short course and competency-based training programs across ten streams: Athlete Wellbeing, Life skills, Sport & Event Management, Coaching, High Performance, Leadership, Strength & Conditioning, Sports medicine, Anti-Doping and Sports Science
Recognized as a legacy initiative after PG 2023, SINIS High – Performance program will then be handed to be managed by the government’s National Sports Council (NSC) for its continued delivery and to bring sustainability to the projected future success in elite sport
The facility will have 350 visits a day and will be operating 15 hours a day inside 6 and a half day a week.
SINIS HP is partnering with a number of domestic and international institutions in providing the required capacity building and sharing of expertise.
