As part of the capacity building, two staff from the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Solomon Islands attended a significant weeklong Pacific Partners Forum (PPF) in Sydney, Australia.
The PPF was held at Harry’s Hotel, Sydney, New South Wales, from November 6 to 10, 2023.
The training was fully funded and hosted by ADRA Australia which the Participant’s partners from ADRA Fiji, Vanuatu, PNG, Temoleste, New Zealand, Laos, Solomon Island and a logalto facilitator from Zimbabwe attended the PPF.
Aimed and objective of the PPF was to fulfil the commitment of ADRA Australia to support the partners with capacity strengthening in Data Management, Financial Management and Program Effectiveness especially the use of LogAlto as data management system for all projects.
Logalto is a web-based software for Monitoring and Evaluation and Results-Based Management of international development projects.With LogAlto, seamlessly create logframes, measure results, monitor indicators, manage projects, and facilitate data collection.
Nedilyn Solomon, Project Coordinator for Turn on the Tap (TOTT) Project at ADRA Kukudu Sub Office in Western Province and Denver Newter ADRA Communication/MEL Officer represents ADRA Solomon Islands at the PPF.
Ms Solomon said she was very excited to attend the training which helped her very much improve her data collections and inserted it in to the logalto data system.
‘’For this forum training, I feel so excited about it and have extended my knowledge on logalto Basic to which were I can work on it during my project report’’
‘’And to experience this type of training forum, it’s a privilege to me to drive me board on my skill on managing projects,’’ Ms Solomon said.
Mr Newter who just joined ADRA Solomon Islands as Communication/MEL Officer in October expressed his appreciation to ADRA Australia for such a rewarding training.
‘’I come from a Media and Tourism background and learning about logalto is very new to me since it deals with data information from projects. I just joined ADRA Solomon Islands a month ago and this training given me confident to carry out my work as Monitoring and Evaluation Officer’’
‘’Now I will be able to start putting project information collected from our projects into this logalto software which is very easy and simple. But it didn’t mean that I am now professional with this logalto,I had to practice this logalto every time to allow me to know and would now be able to train others in our organisation ,’’Mr Newter said.
Meanwhile Mr Newter and Ms Solomon acknowledged ADRA Australia for funding the training and ADRA Solomon Islands for successfully facilitating the travel arrangement. The logalto training will end tomorrow, Friday 10 November2023.
