The Acting Commissioner of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), Mr. Mathias Lenialu, together with Deputy Commissioner of National Security and Operation Support, Mr. Ian Vaevaso, visited the Forward Command Post (FCP) at the Central Police Station (CPS) this morning, 25 March 2026.

The visit was aimed at encouraging officers currently engaged in ongoing police operations and providing clear direction as they carry out their duties amid the present political instability.

During the visit, Mr. Lenialu reminded officers of the importance of maintaining neutrality, emphasizing that the RSIPF remains a non-partisan institution committed to upholding the law without fear or favour.

“As police officers, we have taken an oath to serve and protect. We must remain neutral and focused on our responsibilities, regardless of the situation,” he said.

He further stressed that the role of the police is to maintain law and order at all times and to ensure that safety and peace prevail across all communities in the country.

Mr. Lenialu also urged officers to refrain from engaging in political matters, noting that national leaders have the mandate to address the current political situation.

Deputy Commissioner Vaevaso commended officers for their dedication and professionalism, acknowledging the high standard of work demonstrated so far. He encouraged them to continue performing their duties with the same level of commitment.
