A total of $30m was received as inward remittances in January, according to the Central Bank of Solomon Islands January Monthly Economic Bulletin.

In its report, CBSI said during the month, inward remittances processed through money transfer operators totalled $30 million, compared to outward payments of $12 million.

Consequently, a net remittance surplus of $18 million was recorded in January 2025,” the bank said.

Meanwhile, last year alone the labour mobility general around $431m remittances to the country, the highest ever inward remittance received to date.
