236 new cases, 3 deaths, 107 recoveries

Minister of Health and Medical Services Dr Culwick Togamana has announced a further 236 new COVID positive cases and three new corona related deaths over the past 24 hours. Yesterday he reported 366 positive cases.

The new numbers today now bring a total of 2, 167 recorded against Solomon Islands.

Meanwhile majority of the new cases announced today are detected in Honiara.

Case count per provinces:

Malaita 97

Western Province 60

Isabel 16

Central Province 17

Guadalcanal 42

Honiara 1,935

Togamana said COVID-19 status of the remaining provinces will be made known as soon as confirmed test results come in.

(Those provinces are: Makira/Ulawa, Temotu, Renbel & Choiseul).

Deaths

Togamana said in the past 24 hours they have recorded three COVID-19 related deaths, one at the Emergency Department of NRH, the other at the Central Field Hospital and the third death at Good Samaritan Hospital in Guadalcanal Plains.

He said all of them were unvaccinated.

The minister has also announced that one death that was reported in Malaita has now been considered as non COVID death as the swab taken for the child was negative for COVID.

The total number of COVID-19 related death is now 15.

Recoveries

A total of 90 NRH staff including 17 patients at the NRH and Central Field Hospital have returned negative test results in their last COVID-19 test. This means a total of 107 recoveries so far.
