12-yr-old found dead as police investigates ‘suspicious’ suicide

Police in Tulagi are investigating the suspicious death of a 12-yr-old male who allegedly used a shoelace to hang himself on Saturday night.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Ian Vaevaso told journalists today that police are investigating the case, which he describes as suspicious.

He said the young man was found dead in a room of a house that also included the boy’s parents.

The young boy was alleged to have used a shoelace hooked it to a louver window and hanged himself.

Vaevaso gave no details but confirmed that a post-mortem was already carried out and it would be part of the investigations.

Police say they are not releasing further information as the case is being investigated.
