The person at the NRH who felt unwell on arrival from the Philippines on Tuesday was tested negative for COVID-19 but he is expected to join the rest of those in quarantine this weekend to make the total of those in mandatory quarantine at 113.

After days of exhaustive preparations, Health and Camp Management teams, and other front-liners have successfully received, processed and settled our students from the Philippines and a handful of foreign nationals into their respective quarantine stations.

Of the total, 96 are returning nationals from the Philippines first repatriation flight accommodated at Guadalcanal Beach Resort (GBR) and Chengs Accommodation, both located at East Honiara. 11 are crews of the Royal Australian Air Force, which arrived yesterday to continue the surveillance “Operation Kurukuru.” Other persons are 3 foreigners serving extended quarantine period for 21 days since they came from high risk countries, one Vanuatu national and a fishing boat crew; these foreigners are meeting their own costs at their places of quarantine.

A statement from National Disaster Council says only one returning student was admitted at the National Referral Hospital Isolation Ward and tested negative for COVID-19.

The batch serving quarantine now consists of 92 males and 20 females.
