HONIARA –Corruption undermines development, inhibits economic growth, hinders the delivery of services and undermines good governance and the rule of law.

Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) play a critical role in the fight against corruption. The Development Services Exchange (DSE), the umbrella organisation of civil society organisations (CSOs) in Solomon Islands, in partnership with UNDP under the “Transparency and Accountability for People of the Solomon Islands Project” (TAP) have organised a three-day training for representatives of civil society organizations.

The main objective of this training programme was to increase capacity of CSO partners in the area of anti-corruption and project management. During the training, the participants had the opportunity to gain skills in awareness raising, evidence gathering, monitoring and evaluation, financial reporting and other activities. The participants also received support in formulation of anti-corruption ideas that will subsequently be funded through a grant scheme under the TAP project.
