The Member of Parliament (MP) for North Guadalcanal Constituency Samson Maneka has thanked the Ulukolu Cooperative Society for a great achievement during the blessing of a tractor blessing at Sali community on 30 September 2023.
Hon Maneka in his remarks, “I am happy to witness this great achievement today. I have supported the Cooperative Society a few years back with a pickup truck and now I come today to witness the blessing of your new tractor. It is a great achievement.”
“Today you have proven to me with this great achievement which I really thank you for the management of Ulukolu Cooperative Society to reach this far,” he told the gathering.
Maneka says because of their hard work now they have the machine in front of them for the for the blessing.
“Manage it well for its intended purpose to help our communities,” he added.
Secretary of the Ulukolu Cooperative Society and representative of fathers James Peresini says, “Our fathers have a positive attitude of respect towards the Cooperative Society Executive with its operational management that is why we reach this far.”
They always supported them during the operation of the Cooperative Society.
“Even though we go through some challenges they always have understanding when it comes to tough decision making,” Peresini said.
Speaking on behalf of mothers during the blessing program Ms. Elizabeth Rave says, “Today it is a blessing for us mothers in zone six. We hope the tractor will ease the challenges we have been facing for the past years.”
She thanked the Executive of Ulukolu Cooperative Society for the tremendous well-done job.
“It is not easy to run such a business. It needs commitment and dedication to reach this far which demand our understanding and working together,” said the mother.
Operation Manager, Ulukolu Cooperative Society Mr. Felix Garimane also thankedManeka for his presence to witness the blessing of the new tractor.
He also thanked the Sali community and its surrounding communities for the great support to his Executive.
The new tractor cost about $300,000.00, which was purchased by Ulukolu Cooperative Society with the support from Hon MP for north Guadalcanal.
Hundreds of people from zone six with other visiting friends have come to witness the blessing of the tractor by Reverend Pastor John Mark from the South Sea Evangelical Church, Guadalcanal Region.
