United Kingdom’s Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has sent his congratulatory note to the Prime Minister Honorable Jeremiah Manele MP, thru British High Commissioner to Solomon Islands His Excellency Thomas Edward Coward.
HE Thomas Edward Coward conveyed the congratulatory message and assured PM Manele of the British government’s continuous support to Solomon Islands in areas of common interest.
Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele revealed that the top priorities for the government are expanding the economic base of the country which in turn will create more job opportunities. More attention will be on the productive sector while education and health remain top priorities as well.
PM Manele also added that security is another top priority. The plan in place is to increase the number of the members of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force from the current 1,500 to 3,000 in the next three years. By 2030, the force should be accounted for 5.000 men and women in uniform.

The Prime Minister made an open invitation to the British government to assist in any of the areas in the policy priorities of the government.
PM Manele updated the High Commissioner on other businesses of the government and looked forward to broaden areas of mutual interests between Solomon Islands and the British government.
