He told Parliament that the government is currently implementing the Solomon Islands Education Act approved in 2023. Adding, Ministry of Education, in collaboration with and support from MOFT and MPS, have successfully completed the cleansing and proper alignment of teacher’s payroll data in late April.
Kuma admitted that this has been a meticulous exercise that took more than six months to complete, as it was critically necessary to have been completed at 100 percent of all teachers’ payroll data.
“This has enabled the subsequent adjustments and testing to be conducted in SIG’s Aurion Payroll System (APS) from end of April up to now to enable the smooth migration of data between MEHRD and APS,” said Kuma.
