Solomon Water today says the road closure on the eastbound carriageway of the Kukum Highway from the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources to Panatina Plaza will continue to be closed and normal traffic operations are expected to resume on this road section in Mid-August.
In a public notice today, SW said: “We would like to inform the public the road closure on the eastbound carriageway of the Kukum Highway from the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources to Panatina Plaza will continue to be closed due to a delay in sheet piling and pipe laying works.”
It adds, the delay in the works is attributed to slow sheet piling progress, caused by variable ground conditions including harder ground and large quantities of coronous material in some sections of the pipe trench. It continues this also had a knock-on effect on the pipe laying works.
Meanwhile the notice confirms that normal traffic operations are expected to resume on this road section in mid-August.
In apologizing for the inconvenience caused, especially to motorists and the travelling public they also appeal for public understanding as they advance to completing this part of the Sewer Works Project – Fisheries to Telekom Roundabout.
