Solomon Power has opened an investigation into an allegation that one of its street light poles near the Central Market has caused the death of a Honiara resident.

The pole is situated on the middle of the island—opposite of the Central Plaza. It was alleged that the deceased touched the pole and it shocked him—causing his death last week.

The story has sent shock waves throughout Honiara and there were growing fears and people had been told to avoid getting closer to the post.
