Solomon Power donates 2 wheel chairs to Kilu’ufi Hospital

As part of its support for Malaita Day, Solomon Power handed over two wheelchairs to Kilu’ufi Hospital management on Tuesday and joined in the ongoing pre-celebration in Auki.

The two wheel chairs are multi-adjustable, to provide support to patients with lower back pains; they can change the backrest tilt to sit flush with their back.

Speaking on behalf of Solomon Power, Manager Marketing (Stanley Teahohonoa), stated “As a state-owned enterprise, we are honored to assist the Kilufi hospital, which is an important health facility for the people of Malaita Province. This donation in line with the celebrations in Auki to mark the Malaita Provincial Second Appointed Day, which will be held on August 15, 2024.”

The wheelchairs were received by Malaita Provincial Health Director, Dr David Danitofea and his medical team, who said, ” Wheel chairs are needed to be able move patients within the hospital wards for their comfort needs. We do have wheel chairs but they are old, and I believe two brand new wheel chairs will really contribute a lot to take care of the patients.”

Dr Danitofea further highlights “Solomon Power has set an outstanding precedent for other corporate partners. Giving back to the community is definitely a great example, and please communicate our appreciation to the Management of Solomon Power.”

Joshua Keniore (Solomon Power Officer in charge at Auki) and Solomon Power Auki team officially handed over the wheelchairs, with the hope that the support would significantly enhance Kilufi’s capacity and capability to provide health services to the people of Malaita.

Solomon Power has joined other corporate houses and business partners in Auki since August 11th as part of the Mini Trade show in Auki to prepare for Malaita’s provincial second appointed day on August 15, 2024.
