In a momentous celebration of over three years of collaboration, Solomon Airlines, and the Solomon Islands-Australia Partnership’s Strongim Bisnis program marked the culmination of their strategic partnership aimed at elevating the national tourism sector.

This enduring partnership, initiated over three years ago, has been a significant part of Strongim Bisnis’ work in the development of the Solomon Islands tourism sector.

The Australian Government, through its flagship private sector development program Strongim Bisnis, has played a pivotal role in supporting Solomon Airlines to enhance payment gateways, create alluring holiday packages, refine digital passenger communication, and fortify the airline’s online presence.

Frank Wickham, Chairman of the Solomon Airlines Board, expressed gratitude for the collaboration. “The Australian Government program, Strongim Bisnis, is a cornerstone in supporting commercial and marketing developments for Solomon Airlines, enabling us to advance and fortify local capabilities as we emerge as a truly competitive regional airline,” Mr Wickham said.

Solomon Airlines and Strongim Bisnis celebrated not only the fruitful three-year collaboration but also heralded the announcement of a new partnership agreement signed in November 2023. This innovative collaboration strategically focuses on leveraging the Pacific Games as a dynamic platform to showcase the Solomon Islands as a premier tourism destination.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Peter Shanel Agovaka, the Minister of Communication & Aviation, emphasised the paramount importance of this joint initiative.

“We are pleased that the Solomon Islands Government and Australian Government’s private sector development program joined forces for this initiative. With our new stadium, we are not only attracting sports enthusiasts but also tourists, amplifying our nation’s appeal.

Thank you to the Australian Government through Strongim Bisnis for your ongoing partnership,” Hon. Shanel Agovaka said.

His Excellency Rod Hilton, the Australian High Commissioner, offered his heartfelt congratulations to Solomon Airlines.

“It is great to be here celebrating Solomon Airlines’ achievements and our collective commitment to ensuring that the Games leave a lasting impact. Under the Solomon Islands – Australia Economic Partnership, we take great pride in supporting the tourism sector, which creates jobs and builds up incomes of families all over the country.”

This strategic alliance not only enhances the competitiveness of Solomon Airlines but also contributes significantly to the economic growth and development of the Solomon Islands.
