SOLOMON AIRLINES BRINGS FORWARD ADDITIONAL NEW ZEALAND FLIGHTS TO MEET DEMAND

Solomon Airlines is moving quickly to meet demand for flights between Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and New Zealand, announcing the airline will bring forward the start of twice-weekly scheduled flights to Auckland.

From 12 June, Solomon Airlines will commence two return flights weekly between Honiara, Port Vila and Auckland all of which will be operated by Solomon Airlines aircraft.

Vanuatu Department of Tourism Director, Mr Paul Pio stated, “The Vanuatu Department of Tourism welcomes the additional services introduced by Solomon Airlines from Port Vila to Auckland. New Zealand represents the second largest inbound tourism market to Vanuatu behind Australia, and this additional service will provide the much-needed confidence to our Kiwi travellers and trade partners, including the tourism business sector in Vanuatu,” and added, “The Government remains committed to working with all interested airline partners to address our aviation connectivity challenges.”

Solomon Airlines New Zealand schedule will operate as follows:

From 12 June – Honiara-Port Vila-Auckland – 2 return flights weekly

  • Current Flight IE710 Port Vila-Auckland will depart Monday 5:50pm arriving Auckland 10:05pm.

  • Additional Flight IE710 Port Vila-Auckland will depart Wednesday at 5:25pm, arriving Auckland at 9:40pm.

  • Both Flights IE711 Auckland-Port Vila will depart Tuesday & Thursday at 12.00pm arriving Port Vila at 2:15pm.
