SIPA provides T-Shirts and shoes to the San Isidro for Peace Marathon

Solomon Ports today handed over T-Shirts and Sport shoes to the San Isidro Care Centre students, who will be taking part in the 2022 Solomon Airlines Peace Marathon this weekend on Saturday.

A total of 36 T-Shirts and Running shoes were handed over today at the San Isidro school compound at Aruligho, Northwest Guadalcanal. This was the second time for the Port to support the care Centre students, as SIPA was their major sponsor for the 2021 Edition, where SIPA donated Shirts, Shorts, and shoes to the students. SIPA staff took time off their work schedule today to personally visit the students in their school , and handed over the sport gears.

SIPA is also the proud Gold Sponsor for this year’s ‘Solomon Airlines Peace Marathon’, as was last year’s edition. Speaking during the brief handover ceremony today, Principal of San Isidro Care Centre, Sr Maria Fe Rollo thanked the SIPA staff for travelling all the way from the capital city to visit the school and students. She said this was not SIPA’s first time in supporting the school and students, and for the port’s continuous support in recognizing these students with special needs.

“On behalf of the school and students, we want to thank the SIPA Executive Management for this big support, for sure our students are so happy with these sport gears and will be a big boost as they will be taking part in the Peace Marathon this weekend, “she said.

Meanwhile, speaking on behalf of the visiting SIPA staff, WebMedia Officer Lowen Sei said SIPA was glad in supporting the school and students. He said SIPA recognizes young people with special needs and are grateful in stepping in and supporting the students of San Isidro Care Center.

“SIPA wishes all the best to all the students who will be taking part in the Marathon, and we hope you will do your best to make this school proud,” he said. The 2022 Solomon Airlines Peace Marathon will take place this Saturday.
