The Solomon Islands National University has ordered the removal of all multiple unofficial social media pages, accounts that operate under the SINU name or logo without formal approval.
In a public notice, Pro Vice-Chancellor Corporate Dr William Parairato wrote: “Please be advised that all social media accounts, pages and groups not administered by SINU Marketing and promotions must be removed by no later than 30 May 2025.”
He said the only recognized and approved pages that are permitted to operate include: The official Solomon Islands National University page and the SINU Student Association page.
Parairato further advised that the directive includes but not limited to: FB groups/pages using SINU logo or name, Whatsapp groups representing SINU to the public and Instagram, Tiktok or other platform accounts claiming affiliation with SINU.
He said the use of SINU logo, name or branding without prior written approval is strictly prohibited. “This is to ensure consistency, protect the integrity of the university’s identity, and maintain clear and accurate public communication.”
Parairato warns that failure to comply with the directive may result in disciplinary action or further administrative measures.
