SIM Card Registration extended to July 2025

The Telecommunications Commission of Solomon Islands has extended the SIM Card Registration by Seven Months to 4^th July 2025.

The Registration is to close today 29  November 2024.

In a statement, TSCSI said the extension to extend the deadline follows a request from Solomon Telekom Company Ltd and BMobile Ltd requesting more time to register an optimum number of scribers.

Collectively, only 40% of subscribers have been registered, unless the deadline is extended, more than 60% of mobile subscribers will be deactivated, which may have significantly impact on the market, TCSI said.

TCSI has considered the applications and had resolved to extend the deadline by additional 220 days is added to the initial deadline of 28 November 2024.

TCSI Commissioner Calvin Ziru confirmed that this will be the only extension for Solomon Islands.

It is understood that majority of the rural subscribers have to register and both companies have both endeavoured to complete it next year.
