RSIPF officers promoted to senior ranks

Seven officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have been promoted to different positions within the Force during a brief ceremony at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara today (18 December 2020).

Speaking at the ceremony, Commissioner Mostyn Mangau told the officers: “Your promotions are challenging as you take on the new leadership positions to drive the RSIPF.”

“Your promotions are significant for RSIPF and the people of Solomon Islands. The future of RSIPF is vested on your shoulders. I, as your Commissioner would like to say that the commitments and all of you put into work to help our people shows the result of the step forward in your career.

“We are so fortunate to have the Solomon Police Development Program (SIPDP) and the Solomon Island Police Support Program (SIPSP) to support us.”

Mangau told the officers that leadership comes with responsibilities, responsibilities come with challenges but as a team you can archive our goals.

He adds the RSIPF Strategic Directions and core values set a clear direction.

“Even our national motto is very clear: ‘To lead is to serve’,” says Commissioner Mangau.

The newly promoted officers are:

• Inspector Jimson Robo who is promoted to superintendent rank to be the Operation Manager for Honiara City;

• Inspector James Teilo promoted to superintendent rank to be the Director of Learning and Development Department.

Constable Brian Tamoli of Maritime Department to become Senior Sergeant;

• Constable Whiteson Havimana of Maritime Department to become a Senior Sergeant;

• Police Constable Casper Nuie, Brian Kaura and Duddley Suru’au  of Maritime Department promoted to sergeant ranks.

A representative from the newly promoted officers Teilo says, “We would like to thank the Executive for recognising the effort we put into the organisation that make us proud today. We will continue to provide the services needed from our good people in Solomon Islands.”
