PREMIERS UPDATED ON ONGOING BATTLE AGAINST COVID-19
Eight Provincial Premiers including the Lord Mayor of Honiara City with the exception of the Premier of Malaita Province have attended a one-day information sharing meeting on Wednesday 22 with senior ministerial officials regarding the current measures to battle the entry of covid-19 into the country.
Opened by the Minister of Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening, Hon. Rolland Seleso, the meeting is to share updates, guidelines and awareness on current measures the National Government is undertaking to battle the threat of the virus on the country.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for senior officials of the Ministry of Provincial Governments to inform the Premiers on the overall work programme of the Ministry for 2020 in view of the current covid-19 situation.
Minister Seleso believes that the meeting will provide insights on the progress and directions that Provincial Governments can take to help their people.
All Provinces have an important role to play and I fully appeal for your cooperation and understanding so that we as a Government can keep Solomon Islands virus free, Mr Seleso said.
Presentations at the meeting were made by officials from the Prime Ministers Office, the Attorney Generals Office, NDMO, MEHRD, MECDM and other Government Agencies involving directly in the covid-19 battle.
