Police search for a missing person in Langalanga Lagoon

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Auki are searching for a missing person at Langalanga lagoon on 22 January 2021.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Inspector Michael Ramosaea says, “The male person went on a fishing trip on 22 January early in the morning around Auki Island in Langalanga lagoon but not return as expected.”

Supervising PPC Ramosaea says a search party was conducted but did not find the missing person. His dugout canoe was found by the villagers of Auki Island but without the person.

Inspector Ramosaea says, “My officers are trying their best to find the missing person. I appeal to the surrounding communities in Auki Island and Langalanga Lagoon especially those villages in the coastal areas and boat travellers to assist police by providing information.”

PPC Ramosaea says, “Currently my officers have opened an enquiry file and investigations are continuing into the incident.”
