Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says the matter was reported to Noro Police Station by members of the deceased’s family and officers attended the scene the next day due to heavy rain and it was already dark.

Lenialu says families and relatives of the deceased were not satisfied with the death and had requested a post mortem to be conducted to find out the cause of her death.

“I appeal to both parties to refrain from taking the law in their own hand— and allow police to deal with the matter,” a RSIPF Media Unit Press Statement says.

Chief Superintendent Lenialu sends condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased for the loss of their loved one.

“An enquiry file has been established and police is calling on communities at Kindu to come forward with any information that may relate to the death of the young female,” Lenialu says.

They call Noro police on phone 61005 Or Munda police station on phone on 62189 and assist them with any information.
