Police have destroyed drugs it seized from the Post Office and in another location in Honiara.
The drugswere confirmed as methamphetamine and one was posted from an European address to a known post number in Honiara.
SBMOnline broke the story and had confirmed with Solomon Post that through INTERPOL, police here were alerted of the suspected drug as it was on its way to Honiara in the later part of 2023.
It was the Forensic Team that confirmed that it was the banned drug, methamphetamine.
Commissioner of Police Mostyn Mangau confirmed to journalists today that the drugs were destroyed over the weekend.
He also confirmed that the no arrests were made in relations to the drugs.
Despite the destruction, Mangau stated that investigation into the drugs is continuing.
SBMOnline understands that DPP had given instruction for the drugs to be destroyed based on the fact that the drug is dangerous, illegal and no one was linked to it.
