PNG MISSION OPENS CONDOLENCE BOOK FOR FORMER PM ALEBUA

The Solomon Islands High Commission in Port Moresby last week opened a condolence book for the former Prime Minister, the late Right Honorable Ezekiel Alebua who passed away on Sunday 7th August at his home village in Guadalcanal.

The condolence book was opened for condolence messages and signatures at the High Commission on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th August, 2022.

Government representatives of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, members of the resident Diplomatic Corp and representatives of International Organizations in Port Moresby called in at the Solomon Islands High Commission office to convey their condolence messages by signing the book.

Furthermore, in honour of the passing of the former Prime Minister, the Solomon Islands flag at the High Commission was hoisted at half-mast until after the burial of late Right Hon. Alebua.

The Solomon Islands High Commissioner to the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, His Excellency, William Soaki and family together with the staff of the High Commission, join other dignitaries and fellow Solomon Islanders in conveying heartfelt condolences to the immediate family, relatives and friends of the late Rt. Hon. Ezekiel Alebua. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

The condolence book will be returned to Honiara later this week.
