Prime Minister Hon. Manasseh Sogavare, MP has received a courtesy visit from the non- Resident Korean Ambassador to Solomon Islands His Excellency Kang Kym-gu recently at the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Both Prime Minister Sogavare and H.E Kym- gu acknowledged the strong and longstsanding relationship shared between Korea and Solomon Islands.

Prime Minister Sogavare reiterated that the relationship between both countries continued to grow from strength to strength since its establishment.

Prime Minister Sogavare commended Korea’s support in the Solomon Islands and stated that there are more potentials for both countries to continue to work together to serve in their best interests.

Hon. Sogavare highly spoke of the support that the Korean Government through KOICA had done with the Solomon Islands National University.

The Prime Minister also commended Korea’s company Eagon Pacific Plantation Limited stating the need to replicate such model in other provinces in the country. South Korea and the Solomon Islands established diplomatic relations on the 15 September 1978.
