PM Manele’s first overseas visits to Australia, then to China before Japan

PM MANELE TO UNDERTAKE OFFICIAL VISITS TO AUSTRALIA, PRC AND JAPAN

The Prime Minister, honourable Jeremiah Manele MP, will undertake his first three international engagements as Prime Minister over the next four weeks.

The Prime Minister will make his first official visit to Australia between 23rd and 29th June 2024.

 During his visit which will focus on Brisbane and Canberra, the Prime Minister will meet with his counterpart, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles and senior ministers.

He will also visit places that had been supporting Solomon Islands and will meet with members of the Solomon Islands Diaspora in Australia, including workers under the Pacific Mobility Scheme.

 Prime Minister Manele wishes to use this visit to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries and reaffirm his government’s commitment to work with Australia in areas of mutual interest.

Following the Australia visit, Prime Minister Manele will make his first official visit to China in his capacity as Prime Minister in early July.

The Prime Minister will visit Fujian Province, Beijing and Shandong Province. During his visit, the Prime Minister will meet with the Leadership in Beijing and each of the province.

Prime Minister Manele wishes to use the visit to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries and reaffirm his government’s commitment to work with China in areas of mutual interest.

Following the visit to China, the Prime Minister will join other Pacific Forum Leaders for the PALM 10 meeting in Tokyo, Japan, from 16-18 July.
