PM AND DELEGATION LEFT FOR UNGA

Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare and his delegation have left for New York, United States of America (USA) to attend the United Nations General Assembly(UNGA) meeting yesterday afternoon at 4pm.

The Sogavare- led delegation will transit at Brisbane and on the evening of Saturday the delegation will board the connection flight to Los Angeles and then to New York.

PM Sogavare will took to the podium of the UNGA on Friday next week, and the PM’s speech is expected to be broadcasted by the national broadcaster, the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation (SIBC).

On the margins of the UNGA there will be other meetings where government officials will attend to.

The Prime Minister will also meet with the Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese on the way back from New York in Canberra, Australia.

Of the contingent that have left, five officials are from the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and other government ministries constituted the other part of the delegation.

The Prime Minister and delegation are expected back into the country in one and half weeks’ time.
