Passport fee REMAINS at $1,000 NOT $3,000

Passport fee remains at $1,000 per passport and not $3,000 as wrongly claimed by some on social media.

With police clearance fee being increased from $90 to $300, some individuals have already claimed that passport fees have increased from $1,000 to $3,000.

In refuting the claim, the permanent secretary commerce, Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration, Riley Mesepitu said there is no such a thing as that.

“Please inform the public that PS MCILI want to clear the air, Passport fee still the same as $1,000. Even if there is any review $3,000 is way too much,” Mesepitu told SBMOnline.

“Both myself and Minister didn’t even mention that at PAC and Budget debate at Parliament, respectively,” the PS said.

Meanwhile one citizen said it is important the public stay away from posting false and unverified information and leave it to do who responsible to do that.
