Parliament set for April 24 with two bills confirmed for sitting

Parliament will meet on the 24th of April with two key bills set to be heard in the sitting.

Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele announced today that he had already advised the Clerk of Parliament to notify Members of Parliament on the next meeting.

He said his government plans to table two important bills in the upcoming meeting. They are the Special Economic Zone Bill and the Mineral Resources Bill.

The PM has expressed his hope that Parliament will pass the two bills in its April-May Sitting.

Manele further confirmed that His Excellency the Governor General, Sir David Tiva Kapu, will also be delivering the Speech from Throne during the upcoming meeting.

This will be the third meeting of the current house which was elected in April last year.
