The Permanent Secretary for the Solomon Islands Ministry of Finance and Treasury, McKinnie Dentana, and Acting Australian High Commissioner to Solomon Islands, Sally Anne Vincent, officially opened the new Australia Solomon Islands Partnership for Governance (ASIP-Gov) Program Office in Honiara on 17 November 2022.

The opening marks the commencement of the next phase of partnership between the Governments of Solomon Islands and Australia to strengthen accountable and inclusive governance in Solomon Islands.

“The Solomon Islands Government is committed to maintaining a stable economy and implementing policies and practices for sustainable economic recovery and growth. We are proud of our long-standing partnership of many years with Australia on governance assistance. The start of this new phase brings Solomon Islands a step further along the path to improve governance and accountability, especially in the current challenging environment.
