The Ministry of Culture and Tourism encourages Honiara City residents to warmly welcome and respect international visitors scheduled to visit the city this weekend.
Permanent Secretary Bunyan Sivoro made the call in a statement today ahead of the arrival of the PACIFIC EXPLORER Cruise Boat operated by P&O Cruise Liner.
Pacific Explorer is carrying around 2500 pax onboard and they will spend 3 days in Honiara. This will be the first time this cruise will stay longer for 3 days in Honiara and it’s an opportunity for our country to provide services for our visiting friends onboard.
The cruise boat will be in Honiara from Saturday, May 18th, to Monday, May 20th, 2024.
“In light of this occasion, we kindly appeal to the general public to extend a warm welcome and show utmost respect to our visitors during their visit and stay in Honiara. Hosting such visitors is not only a privilege but also an opportunity to showcase the warmth and hospitality of the happy Isles, Sivoro said.

“As representatives of Honiara, let us make every effort to ensure our guests feel welcomed and appreciated. Whether it’s offering assistance, providing directions, or simply sharing a smile, every gesture counts in creating a positive experience for our visitors,” he added.
Sivoro called on Honiara residents to come together as a community to make their stay memorable and enjoyable.
