Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province, Superintendent David Soakai says investigators have carried out an investigation into the matter and have located the suspect, as he is the one who received the stolen mobile phone worth $3000-00 from a group of boys.

It was alleged that the suspect bought a carton of beer and drank with a group of boys and took the phone from them.

Prior to the statement-taking police had warned the suspect to cooperate but did not. Therefore, the suspect was arrested for the alleged offence, a RSIPF statement says this morning.

Soakai says, “I urged the communities and villagers in Central Province not to take the law in their own hands by doing such actions. I ask our good people in Central Province to work together with the police for the common good of our communities to be a safe and peaceful place to live in.”
