Man found dead in relative’s house after two days’ of drinking

A man was found dead in a relative’s home in Noro after he went on a drinking for two days, police say today.

Following the death, RISPF officers at Noro Police Station have established a death inquiry file of the death of the 49-year-old male person in Western Province over the weekend.

Police had attended to the incident after his his body was found in a bedroom at his relative’s residence after they received an urgent call from relatives at around 7am in the morning on Sunday to attend to the report.

RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau said it was alleged that the deceased had been drinking with his wife on Friday and continued on Saturday before he went to sleep that evening (Saturday).

According to Mangau, on Sunday morning at around 5am he was found dead in a bedroom. 

He added there were no signs to suggest that the incident was suspicious as there were no signs of bruises or fractures on his body.

Mangau said police would continue to investigate and establish the cause of the death.

Condolences to the immediate family members and his friends for the loss of their loved one.
