Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Central Police Station (CPS) are investigating the death of a young man after he fell off from a double cabin Hilux at Town ground area yesterday (12 April).

RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau says the hilux was travelling easterly direction from one of the beaches in West Guadalcanal until they reached the front of the British and Zealand High Commission Office main road when the deceased fell off from it.

“The driver and others who were in the hilux stopped over and assisted the deceased to National Referral Hospital (NRH). The deceased was pronounced dead by the medical authorities upon arrival,” confirmed Mangau.

He stated that four suspects were identified and currently under police custody for questioning. A death inquiry file has been established for further investigation.

“My condolences to the relatives of the deceased for the loss of their dear son,” said Mangau.

“I appeal to those who might have any information about the incident to come to the police and assist our police investigators,” he said.
