On Monday 6 March, The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) and Solomons’ International Assistance Force (SIAF) Officers from the joint PG23 Security Planning Team commenced venue inspections ahead of the Games set to take place in November this year (2023).

The Pacific Games will include 24 Nations with 24 sporting events held across multiple venues with multiple villages to accommodate athletes.

The team toured some of the main facilities where, in less than nine months’ time, athletes and officials from across the Pacific will be travelling to commence the 2023 Pacific Games.

The ongoing collaboration between the RSIPF PG23 Planning Team, Games Organising Committee (GOC) and external stakeholders on the security aspect of the games is essential to the vision of the RSIPF in creating a safe and secure environment.

This is the first major event the RSIPF will be planning with the assistance of the SIAF planning team of such a scale. The team will be working hard between now and November to ensure that the 2023 Pacific Games are safe, secure and successful.
