A Nauru recruiting team left today after identifying Solomon Islanders to work there.

One of the recruiters, Cliance Harris told SBMOnline this afternoon today that they left very happy because they had already identified those who will be engaged to work in Nauru in the next two years.

She confirmed that they had spoken around 60 people and had already identified the ones that were needed urgently to take up jobs in their country. The number is said to be around 15 Solomon Islanders. They will be contracted between one to two years.

Those recruited including trades men as well as waitresses. They were recruiting for a State Owned Enterprise.

Harris also confirmed that trades people especially builders have been identified and are now working on their passports and other formalities before they travel to Nauru.

Meanwhile she said they were impressed by the recruitment process and also those that they spoke to.

The Nauruan said they were happy to be here as they were familiar with Solomon Islands.

Also she added: “Solomon Islanders are hard working and humble.”

Solomon Islanders working in Nauru is not new many had worked there since the 1980s.
