Fire incident at Tenakonga is major loss to GP

Three classroom buildings (a science lab included), in Tenakonga Community High School, Paripao Ward, Northeast Guadalcanal were up in flames at around 4:00am yesterday morning.

The GP Minister of Education, Deputy Premier, Hon. Lazarus Rina, stated that the incident is a major loss to Guadalcanal Province in terms of Education and Human Resources.

“This is a major loss for Guadalcanal Province, especially in Education and Human Resources. The Tenakonga Community High School is an integral school that produces a lot of Guadalcanal leaders in the past. It’s so unfortunate to see the classrooms have vanished just like that” the Deputy Premier stated.

The GPG Disaster Management Team has deployed to the site to investigate the cause of the fire.
