And police in the Tulagi are investigating the missing 15hp yamaha engine from a yacht, owned by a US family.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province, Superintendent David Soakai says, “The stolen engine was attached to a dinghy anchored at Gavutu Island.”
The family was diving at the island when the incident happened, he said.
He added the dinghy was berthing on the yacht when a person cut the rope and moved it to a nearby island.
Mr. Soakai further confirmed that the fuel tank, fuel line, diving mask, and flippers were also removed from the dinghy boat.
