Drunken driver who uses another vehicle’s licensed plate number on his car causes damages to 2 vehicles

A man who used another vehicle’s licensed plate number on his car smashed two other at vehicles at Point Cruz on Sunday.
NTD Director Superintendent (Supt) Foufaka says the suspect was arrested after crashing onto a vehicle in front of him and as a result of the coalition the vehicle collided with another vehicle parked on the side of the road at the Mendana avenue road in front of Pinnacle Enterprise Limited at Point Cruz area.”
Foufaka alleged that the suspect was under the influence of alcohol and had used another vehicle’s license plate number.
A police statement said as a result of the accident two adult persons were arrested with traffic related offences.
Police charged the owner of the vehicle license plate number for permitting to use the said identification plate contrary to section 12 of the Road Transport Act. Cap131.
The driver was charged with careless driving contrary to section 40(1) of the Road Transport Act. Cap131.
The presence of Alcohol in Person’s Blood contrary to section 43A (1) (a) of the Road Transport Act. Cap131 and Identification plate contrary to section 12 of the Road Transport Act. Cap131.”
Both suspects were bailed to appear before the Honiara Central Magistrates’ Court on 29 November 2022.
